Additional Notes - Portal Strings
Customers can now override strings within the Portal application by editing the PortalStrings list. This list contains strings that can be over-ridden.
For example, you may wish to change the Portal Title (which is shown in the browser tab header) to "Ask HR".
Or you may wish to use the word "case" or "ticket" rather than "question" throughout the app.
This is now possible by setting the Displayed Text for those list elements.
Keep in mind that this list contains strings for many languages. So if you use English and Spanish languages within your organization, and you override a string, then you should do it for each of the languages that you use.
For example, if you change the PortalTitle from "Dovetail Employee Service Portal" to "Ask HR" in English, you will likely want to also change it to "Pregunta HR" in Spanish.
Additional Notes - Improvements to the "Related" widget and the "Latest Page Changes" widget
- For the "Related" widget, those links now open in a new tab, so as to not lose the create-case data that's been entered already
- Last Modified date now shows the correct date, a better label, and renders in a "time ago" format
- Solution Type is displayed as a badge
- Show the scrollbar, when necessary
- Improve the styling, including the borders
Additional Notes - Changing the case type should update the notes template
When a case type is selected on the new case page, the initial case notes can be pre-populated with a template. For example, if the case type is "Time Off", a template can pre-populate the notes field with some prompting questions (such as When will your time off start? For how long? Reason for Time Off? etc.)
In the past, if the case type was changed, then the notes and template remained in place.
Now:
- If the user does not enter anything into the notes, then selecting a different case type clears the notes and replaces it with the template for that case type.
- If the user enters anything (even a space) into the notes, then selecting a different case type retains the entered text and prepends the template for the new case type into the notes.
